Plan your own walking holiday in Tenerife and let someone else have the problem of organising it ......

If you are looking for a walking holiday in Tenerife and don't want the inconvenience and stress of planning routes, navigating in unfamiliar territory or driving to the start of your walks, I can offer you guiding services tailor-made to suit your requirements. From single day public walks to full private group multi-day trips for you and your friends or walking club, you set the agenda and pick the routes and days you wish to walk. All you need to do then is book a flight and accommodation for your chosen dates, you will find some useful links to sites offering accommodation and flights in the Links page.

The scenery in Tenerife varies dramatically from spectacular, high altitude peaks to deep, lush canyons and forests of pine and laurel trees to desert landscapes. This variety allied to one of the best year-round climates in the world make Tenerife a superb choice for a walking holiday. At the top of the island lies the National Park Las Canadas Del Teide, which is an amazing volcanic lava landscape over-looked by the towering presence of Mt.Teide, the highest peak on Spanish territory and the third largest volcano in the world. There are many walks within the national park from short strolls to strenuous mountain hikes in some of the most amazing scenery you are likely to find anywhere. In total contrast to Las Canadas are the Anaga mountains in the north-east which are sharply jagged peaks rising to around 3,000ft and covered in some of the only surviving laurel forests in Europe. In the north is the Oratava valley, a huge sloping plain covered in lush banana plantations and pine forests. In the far west of the island are the Teno Hills, a region of imposing mountains, deep gorges and quiet villages including the beautifully preserved and isolated Masca.  Finally, the south of the island is the best region for a base if you like to relax in the sun after your walk. This part of the island is often overlooked as a walking destination but there are some superb walks close to the bustling resorts and it is here that you will find the best weather on the island.

The Public Walks service  is designed to be an economical option for people staying in the south of the island as walks are accessed by local bus. These walks are all in the south between the coast and Vilaflor, Spains highest village at 1,500 mtrs above sea level, walk details can be found in the south section of the Routes page.  Anyone can join a Public Walk up to a total of eight walkers, so you could be joined by other walkers if you choose this option.

Once you have checked availability for your chosen walks/dates using the Enquiry Form, complete and send the Booking Form. You will then be sent  payment details and once payment is received, you will be sent meet-up details for your first walk. Spaces on walks will be provisionally reserved for one week from the despatch of the payment request, after which it will be assumed that the booking is no longer required.

All Public Walks are £15 each per person, plus your bus fares.

The following walks can be booked as Public Walks:
