his is a tremendous hike starting from the floor of the caldera in the Las Canadas National Park by the parador, it then climbs up and out of the crater and along the rim before descending down to Vialflor, Spains highest village. The terrain is extremely varied, from the lunar-like National Park to the rough and at times trackless mountain paths of the rim to quiet paths and tracks of the Canary pine forests on the descent. This is a walk for people who are used to full days in the mountains and are not bothered by the odd minor scramble and exposure. For this walk you need to be fit and sure of your ability in rough terrain. The rewards for your efforts are great with simply stunning views and everchanging vistas.
