his is an excellent varied short hike in the Orotava Valley, starting from the La Caldera picnic area it initially follows forest trails below Los Organos before descending into bucolic countryside on the outskirts of Aguamansa. The return route is then mostly uphill back to La Caldera. Despite being only a short walk, there is a wealth of variety including on clear days, views of the cliffs of Los Organos, tremendous views inland to Teide as well as pine forests and farmed fields around Aquamansa. This is an excellent choice of walk to combine with a trip to the Las Canadas National Park and maybe a trip on the cable car to the top of Teide or a visit to the visitor centre. The walk is all on good paths, tracks and also tarmac lanes and despite being short in length, does have one or two steep climbs.
