My name is Gary and I in the south of Tenerife having relocated here three years from the UK. I have many years experience of walking in hill and mountain country and have taken part in challenge walks, wild camping trips in the Scottish Highlands and multi-day hikes such as two trips along Wainwright's Coast to Coast walk across England as well as a similar trip along the Southern Upland Way in Scotland. You can read about my experiences on both of these long- distance paths by clicking on the buttons above. When in the UK I was member of The Ramblers Association and walked with my local group. As well as editing the groups newsletter, I regularly led walks for the group both locally and in most of the more 'classic' walking areas such as The Lake District and the The Peak District, among others. Since living here, I have taken many walkers out exploring Tenerife and met and made friends with many people, some of whose comments you can find in my guestbook. I have also now written a guidebook of walks in the south of the island called 'Discovering Tenerife on Foot',which is available through this website Finally, I hope you can join me on a walk at some point in the future so that I can share with you all of the wonderful places I have found whilst walking on this beautiful island. | |
